Transaction Types Overview:

  • Credit Origination (Type 1) - An original push transaction created for crediting a consumer's account.
  • Debit Origination (Type 5) - An original pull transaction created for debiting a consumer's account.
  • Return (Type 10) – Original Push transaction was not accepted by the issuer and has been returned to the processor, Ingo. This type of transaction type will mostly occur when pushing to credit accounts. This type of transaction can also be triggered in the form of disputes/chargebacks initiated by the consumer or issuer. A return will typically occur days after submission of the disbursement.
  • Return (Type 19) – Original Pull transaction was not accepted by the issuer and has been returned to the processor, Ingo. This type of transaction type will mostly occur when attempting to pull funds from accounts. This type of transaction can also be triggered in the form of disputes/chargebacks initiated by the consumer or issuer. A return will typically occur days after submission of the original request.
  • Refund (Type 14) – Original Push or Pull transaction was accepted by the processor, Ingo, but declined by the issuer or network. This generally occurs if the consumer’s card is not in good standing. A refund transaction is generally created in real-time.
  • Adjustment Credit (Type 24) – Original Push or Pull card-based transaction was accepted by the processor and issuer. A settlement credit adjustment occurs in response to a transaction-related event after the transaction has processed.
  •  Adjustment Debit (Type 25) – Original Push or Pull card-based transaction was accepted by the processor and issuer. A settlement debit adjustment occurs in response to a transaction-related event after the transaction has processed. The reason for the adjustment is indicated by the reported reason code.
